Quartzite's extreme hardness makes it tougher to cut and demands diamond tooling and experience; a less-equipped shop can chip edges or struggle with intricate cutouts. Quartz, while hard, is more predictable and uniform to fabricate. For the homeowner this matters indirectly: with quartzite especially, the skill of your fabricator directly affects the quality of seams, edges, and sink cutouts.
